INTRODUCTIONS

Welcome and thank you for your interest in Community Organization and system change course. Our school and faculty have a leading advantage in the areas of community and organization and change. The faculty comprises a team of learned and experienced experts with years of field experience.

This course offers a platform for students to explore the intricate mechanisms that constitute community organization and the systemic elements that create dynamic changes with its formations. Students will be given an opportunity to learn, discover analytical strategies, and methods enable them approach change from a Christ centered viewpoint. As an agent of change, the entrepreneurial servant leader will learn practical ways to identify, understand, and promote sustainable programs that trigger paradigms shifts that ultimately address challenging issues that faces community agencies in both profit and nonprofit areas. The effective use of the tools of collaboration, synergy, advocacy, and networking with progressive forces and community stakeholders within and outside of the community triggers sustainable growth. The program outcomes give leaders within faith based community an open door to give back to the community as they learn the rudiments of how to spearhead meaningful and pace setting change into the 21st century.

Finally, students will research and write on a thesis on a community based area of need and proffer answers.

MANAGEMENT PROCESS THEORY 

Course Description

This course covers the fundamentals of the management process; principles and techniques for all organizations. Prospective students should be prepared for wide-ranging exposure to contemporary reasoning and research that is associated with management of organizations as it relates to international business, production, communications, and decision-making in terms of management activities. On your part, it is expected that you will apply rigor to study appropriate materials, join class discussions and maintain regular class attendance.

  

Course Objectives

Using a deeply interactive and unrestrictive approach, this course details an explicit sphere of topics at the individual, group and organizational planes of interpretation. Key topics include, but not limited to: planning, organizing, directing, and controlling, social responsibilities, political influences, and ethical considerations as they affect the management of organizations. At the end of this class which is engineered to be both abstract and practical, students will be able to: 

1.         Students will be able to name and describe management concepts and theories either verbally and/or in writing based on the theories presented in the textbook.

2.         Students will be able to administer management concepts and theories to in-class sessions from the theories and concepts in the textbook.

3.         Students will be able to apply management theories and concepts to various business and organizational case studies.

  1. Attend classes regularly (20%) If you are absent you lose 2% of this attendance grade.
  2. Complete all the reading assignments (20%)
